COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course provides an in-depth exploration of the circular economy, a transformative approach to resource management that aims to shift from a linear “take-make-waste” model to a circular system where resources are utilized in a sustainable and regenerative manner. Students will learn about the principles, benefits, and challenges of circular economy, and examine its relevance in the context of biodiversity, the European Union’s (EU) initiatives, and individual actions. Upon completion of the course, students will have a comprehensive understanding of circular economy, its principles, benefits, and challenges, as well as its relationship with biodiversity, EU initiatives, and individual actions. Students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to critically evaluate and contribute to circular economy practices in various contexts, and advocate for sustainable strategies for resource management.
